Divination Card NPC in kingsmatch - ship cards and get back items
Hello,
With Kingsmarch and the new gold currency I would like to suggest a shipping mechanic at the docks in Kingsmarch where we can ship our divination cards and get back "pages" with the items as 'loot'. How it works: * The NPC has an option: "Ship Divination cards to collector" * The NPC asks a gold price per card. Bigger stacks and more stacks at a time cost most to ship, you can ship as many cards as you want. * Shipping time depends on amount of cards? * Shipping risk increased based on value or amount of cards? * The NPC only accepts full decks of cards (as in: a full stack needed to be able to turn in) Why would now be an ideal time to do it: * Low hanging but high quality QOL will be very positively experienced. * Gold cost adds 'friction' so it isnt just a free feature. * Players still have the choice of turning them in manually at no cost. * You have to use up one of your ships and crew at the docks. A ship and crew you cannot use to sent kingsmarch shipments. This also creates player choice and friction. That's it. Thank you for thinking about our poor hands :) -G Last bumped on Jul 2, 2025, 6:05:01 PM

Sounds interesting. Can you explain a bit more how your idea works. I don't exactly understand what you mean by pages in return? You send out an unfinished stack with gold, then can get the reward that you would get if you had turned in the full stack, is that correct?
The harvest gamble function does something like this, but I think there is some room for a function like this with divination cards. Particularly with lower end stacks, where you might find a card when levelling, but it is not valuable enough to gamble and not useful by the time you get a full stack. The currency exchange has helped with this making it easier to trade them, but particularly in SSF these partial stacks often don't have much use, until you have a lot of game time to get full stack or are specifically target farming them. I think it is an interesting idea you have. The problem would be having it balanced so that it didn't become the way of gearing, but did give some value to finding the cards. It would certainly make dropping these cards more interesting, knowing you have unlocked a method of getting something by finding the first cards. Perhaps it could be done on an exponential scale, where each card you drop in the set lower the price, meaning there would be more interest each time you drop one in the set, rather than all the value being on the first card or the full stack. Alternatively, maybe you send a bunch of random cards loaded up with gold and dust and in return there is a probability that some of the come back as full stacks or the item they would normal swap for. I think that is what you are suggesting? Or the presence of the card in the shipment has influence of the possible rewards with some sort of multiplier on certain items. I think there is room to have both something like this and harvest gambling in the game, if there is a slightly different function. Perhaps the shipping is a way of getting some value for low end stacks while harvest is more direct in getting a specific outcome. ("(Thank you for thinking about our poor hands :)" I read this after posting and think I understand it now. You want to be able to send many stacks at once, to help with QOL of opening the stack. Sound like a good idea, I have heard other people asking for this to be possible on the forum, but your suggestion of using shipping to do it seems like a clever way of using the Kalguur UI to solve this problem. Might be an improvement on people using their loot filter to throw everything on the ground and only pick up the valuable ones.) Last edited by Belegur85#5784 on Jul 2, 2025, 7:01:23 PM
