Suggestion: New Idea for a support gem

Something I have been wanting for years is a minion support gem that lies somewhere between a spectre and a reaper.
Picture this:

Support Lich support:
Summons a minion that follows you and casts a linked spell.

This fills the niche between a totem playstyle and a spectre one, while giving players another toy to play with. I think it could be really fun.

I don't know how you would prefer to balance it; maybe a summon limit of 1, maybe a sizeable damage decrease to spells, in any case those are all formalities that can be plied as necessary. Please don't let the balance questions prevent a new, fresh and unique playstyle from becoming available.

Since the release of mercenaries, I can only hypothesise this should be technically possible; given we have entities with a semi-randomised skill pool.

Thank you, and I'm looking forward to seeing it in a future update!

I want this too, I don't want to have to click spell totem every 2 screens, I want to click every 2 minutes. Even better, once per login would be ideal. Or better just once because the summon should be invincible and the game remembers it when you login. or never because it should be auto summoned upon equipping the skill.
So a companion ?
