Bug with Skill And item combinations causing loss of items of great value

There is a bug with using infernal cry, sacrifice, profane ritual, and charged Staff. IN CONJUNCTION with The Coming Calamity Heroic Armor.
Im not sure which skill is causing the issue but those are the ones I believe are part of the underlying issue.

So yesterday me and a friend were doing a map. I play Flicker strike. He's 🌩 arrow. We killed a rare mob and a unique Heroic armor drops. It's designated as his loot. He has no idea what it is. I knew as soon as I saw it on my screen, yes I was crying inside. I left it there for him. He ask "Heroic Armor?". I reply " Calamity ". He stats "wtf?" As he links it. "Can you use it?" Me, "YESssssss plzzzzzzzz". He proceeds to trade it to me. I spend the next 20 minutes switching in some gems and making it comfortable with my build. ALL IS WELL!!
AT THIS POINT... I swap weapons prebuff swap back. Enter dungeon rebuffed again cause everything falls off when you enter a portal. I do 3/4 of the map die 3 times and then open my inventory to look why my aura icons aren't showing up for heralds of ice, fire, thunder. No chest piece.... I search stash. Me and my pal search the map 3 or 4 times with no loot filter. And filtered. I have a saved replay of the event and have come to the conclusion the Calamity disappears before I even made the first attack, After the rebuffed possibly even before I entered the map from my hideout.


As stated above I have gameplay footage of setting up the Armor skill gem supports all the way through the map and discovery of missing item.
I understand I won't get my item replaced.
