As the issue pertains to Windows deciding the driver for your video card has stalled & restarting it, there is one dodgy fix where you can wade into the Windows Registry & adjust how long Windows will wait before doing so. I don't love this option - but at the end of the day, it is your computer.

Can you reproduce this issue if your foreground FPS isn't capped (and with Vertical Sync disabled) ?

Excellent post, btw. Thanks.

Yes, be it window mode, vsync or any other option. The only option i am not sure is engine multithreading, but performance hit is too big to sit here testing it.
Aye; single-threaded is a bad time - not worth it at all, imo.

Just so anyone reading the thread knows, is the Windows Registry tweak something you'd be interested in? I only ask as it's one of the more direct ways of addressing the problem.

Bump

It's possible other community members (GGG do not provide Technical Support) were waiting to hear whether you had tried the Windows Registry tweak but it didn't help / you were not interested in trying it / you would be potentially interested in trying it but had questions, etc.

Once you have ignored one post from a member of the community, others may become a bit more reluctant to invest time into a post that might not so much as be acknowledged by you.

Fair point. I have tried the registry hack, and sadly it didn't improve the issue in any way. As a result, PoE was unable to recover and simply crashed out.
I have tried to increase the TDR values to 60 seconds, as mentioned in the article you have provided.
I can also say I've tried the registry tweak as well with no success. Still getting frequent (over 10 times a day probably twice an hour) black screen with GGG logo issue. I also tried a BIOS update. I would love GGG to actually try and help the users having this issue since we've been having it since 3.26 launch.
It is kind of weird because every time it happens the game freezes too so nothing actually happens server side so in 1 hand your safe but on the other sometimes your being interrupted and then when your game recovers you sometimes loose a battle because your so used to what comes next that you have to reset your mind on what your doing very fast.
To leave the game in this state is disgusting and should be urgently fixed.
