[Comprehensive List] Worst cases of poor visual clarity in maps

• Ground effects(epecially Ignited/shocked ground) - these are the worst because they add insane visual clutter to the ground and also heavily decrease the overall FPS in any map (also fire wall and ignited ground look particularly bad)

• Skill effect particles in hectic situations - they look very blurry when there is a lot on the screen, compared to poe1, it almost feels like they weren't designed to look good in 1080p

• Strongboxes - the smoke really reduces visual clarity and performance

• Delirium overlapping with other stuff - delirium fog reduces visual clarity primarily by making colours harder to distinguish and it gets even worse when it overlaps with other in map mechanics, making them harder to see

• Ritual in tight spaces - basically impossible to see anything on the screen if your build can't just one shot mobs inside the ritual

• Corrupted/Cleansed maps - mostly because they add a lot of clutter to the ground and increase the mob density

• New curse map mods(especially temporal chains) - hard to see when there is already a lot on the screen and impossible to dodge in some scenarios

• Elemental explosion monster modifiers - why don't they disappear from the ground when you kill normal mobs?

• Vaal Factory monsters lightning spells + fire explosions - the lightning ones are just huge, and cover the whole screen when they are spammed, the fire ones have poor visual clarity and look kinda bad

• Iron Citadel ground and blood effects - the ground has too much red clutter, which also overlaps with a ton of blood ground effects from monsters

• Darker maps and maps with lots of different colors on the ground - sometimes it makes it harder to see certain effects that are not very well telegraphed

• Wisp particles - they affect performance and make the mobs look kinda blurry, at least on my 1080p monitor

• Fungal effects - the yellow ones are hard to see and get lost easily on the ground

• Shrines - some of them add lots of clutter to the screen, also they are hard to see/click when there are monsters nearby

• Overwhelming Presence aura - this is the most annoying and hideous visual effect in the game

SPECIAL MENTION: The Campaign world map - honestly it's just funny how bad the visual clarity is on that

Agree, You could add shrines to the list imo.

I would say this game has great clarity and visuals at its core, but then they slapped all the PoE1 crap on it. I wonder if this was planned or just 'happened' at some point.

I'd also add skills to the list, they're too flashy and some of them can have a somewhat big impact on performance when there's a LOT of monsters on screen, this happens specially with ice and lightning skills, shattering frozen enemies leaves too many particles

Wow, didn't even know it's from that aura, but it must be the worst visual effect in the game.

The game is built for 1280x1024.

If they kept the same scale, but made the game QHD (2560x2048) then all these nice things would occur:

* You could see much further around you; removing the out-of-screen incoming fire
* You can see much further on the Atlas map
* You could increase the radius of (e.g.) Rituals so that there's actually a space to play in
* Please add! ;)

Sure. It screws over the console players. But you guys paid $500 for your computers; we paid $2500 ... so ; thems the breaks :P :P
