Hello im a new player im relatively new to rpg path of exile is my first rpg and i want to know what is the economy and how does gold function in the game cause from what i read on the wikipedia poe dont have any gold currency system yet i see gold in the game

PoE is a bit different. The economy is based on currency orbs. For the most part trades are done using the higher valued, and rarer, orbs (chaos, exalt, divines...). The wiki should have enough info on these.

Gold is a recent addition to the game. Gold is used to respecialize your skill tree, gamble for gear at certain NPCs, used for hiring workers in Kingsmarch (you get acces to this place once you approach endgame), use it as a fee for the currency exchange (auction house of sorts), and most recently to hire mercenaries.

Gold is bound - you can't trade or gift it to other players. It's just used to deal with vendors, Mercenaries and some endgame mechanics.

The currency of small player-to-player trades is the Chaos Orb, which start dropping at level 12. They are uncommon until endgame, common at endgame.

The currency of medium size player-to-player trades is the Divine Orb, these can drop from level 35+ but you likely won't see your first until after level 80. Currently these are a bit over 200 chaos orbs in trade.

The currency of high end trades is the Mirror of Kalandra, you probably won't see one drop at all. But among a hundred thousand or more players reaching level 95-100, a lot of them exist.
