What keeps you coming back to the game league after league?

I am genuinely curious. Especially for people that have been here a while. How far do you get? Do you always kill pinnacles? What is your motivation league after league?

It's the character building. Starting from scratch, basically as a homeless hobo, becoming a godslayer in the end.

I keep coming back hoping the game will finally change.....it doesn't. Same old loot pinata, crack fueled speed simulator, same builds being good, you get the point.

Vaas told me the definition of insanity, sadly i didn't listen.

Before it was because there wasnt any other ARPG that had really good theorycrafting. But im not sure I would call theorycrafting in PoE1 "good" anymore. Its more complex than ever, but that doesnt mean its better.

I really dont like how theorycrafting has turned into figuring out what few niche ways you can scale your build to handle enhanced map mods and T16+ maps.

I also dont like how theorycrafting has extended into the altas and you need to study strategies that multiply loot scaling modifiers in obscure and niche unexplained ways that dictate the economy.

I probably wont come back for another league and instead will just stick with poe2.
