Game randomly does a UI reload

Not sure if UI reload is the right phrase but thats what it feels like. It's happened in maps, while sitting in my hideout, while in boss arenas. The game like locks up for 2-3 seconds and then my game sounds will come back but i will be on a black screen with the GGG loading icon in the middle. I know its not an issue with my computer because my second monitor will be just fine. I've validated my files through steam with no errors found.

I'm, currently running on Vulcan.

I9 13900k, 4070 TI, 32gb Ram, running on a m.2 NVMe drive.

If this happens again, it'd help a lot to see your client's log file.


If you play through Steam - and Steam uses its default install location - the log file will be here;

%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile\logs

You can copy & paste that into File Explorer's address bar.


If you use the standalone client, it'll be in the 'logs' folder of the main game directory.


I've never risked installing the Epic Games Store client, so I can't help you there.

This happens to me too, sometimes mid boss fight.
I usually moves on to HC when I'm done with my first char on softcore trade.
I won't make it out of act 1 with the current game.

So I looked up the code 0x887a0005 and its a directx issue, I checked and my game wasn't on Vulcan anymore so I'm assuming one of the recent updates auto changed it back to dx12. I went back to Vulcan and I haven't had any issues since.


I was fine on league launch and then i believe it was after the first update patch is when I started getting the issues, so my guess is that patch changed it.

Changing to vulcan does tix the issue.
Still get freezes, but they are shorter and does not reset the entire UI.
Both times it freezes, the log have some warn client message. Posting here.
