Perpetual Atlas Fog Glitch, I think?

I have a handful of locations bookmarked on my atlas that have definitely been cleared out and juiced a little bit, but after entering my atlas the past couple days, any bookmark i attempt to jump to is covered in fog. I gave it a long time to maybe load the map or clear the fog out, but it never did. Tried activating burning monolith as suggested by some players as well as just restarting the game, but so far nothing has helped. The one possible option is starting from my Home point which IS clear and manually scrolling in the general direction of a bookmark. If i scroll manually the whole time it will progressively clear the fog, but this takes an eternity as some of the bookmarks are quite far and it's hard to discern exactly where i need to head lol. If anyone has any insight or help I'd appreciate it so much. Thanks ^_^

No work around and this is "normal" and as in normal I mean it's widespread. Only work around is what you mentioned which is shift back to the closest loaded area then reshift back to the bookmark (fyi GGG QoL team, if we are going to continue with the current method of the Atlas map and the size potential being essentially infinite, we will need a considerable increased amount on the maximum bookmarks for the current method to be successful) and the map will load.

My understanding with the map and the fog problem is that it requires a considerable amount of data cached to keep a loaded layout of the map for what would be that current area instance or login instance. Once reloged and what not the map cache is dumped to clear up data space until you need to reload the map and the cycle starts over again.

I'm sure they are working on how to improve the performance of loading the map when you locate a bookmark to where it's almost instantly loaded or improve how it loads in a faster manor and not need the current workaround.

Oh whoa thanks for your reply! No worries, some aimless scrolling isn't the worst fate and ofc I understand the game is still in development. I asked in global a few times and a reddit post, but no one seemed to have much to say, so I thought it was only me lol. Thanks again. =D

Absolutely mate, don't worry about it. FYI for future reference don't ever ask in reddit and don't ask in general chat. You'll waste your time, just drop it in the official forums and you'll improve your odds considerably of getting some sort of a response that isn't some crap coming out of someone's mouth.

Ooh okay I gotcha. Yea i wasn't really aware of this option til I hit up the admin and they directed me here. I'll def just pop in here instead next time I have some questions. Tyty!
