Thieves in Kingsmarch?

I put all my gold into the treasury, because who needs currency exchange or gambling? Before I leave town I check for how long my couple workers will be fed and happy, it says about 6 hours. Five minutes later in map I get the message that the treasury has run out of money. What gives? Activating two ore nodes can't eat up 6 hours of salaries when I only have 2 low level miners/smelters activated?

Even more than in Settlers league all I seem to do is run after gold to keep the town running on a skeleton crew (one active ship, one group of map runners and way too few farmers) and then money gets siphoned off when I turn my back to go mapping?

That's what you get for dealing with Heist ring members.
The problem is the timer for "time until you run out of money" doesn't properly track map runners...but it does properly track the actual hourly value of in-progress workers. If you look at town management when map runners are going you'll see what the hourly income deduction is and you can do some napkin math to have a better idea of how long it will take to run out.

Thanks for clearing that up for me! Think I'll better forego map running for now and save up for a crew that can run red/purple maps and focus on shipments instead. Maybe meet some sugar daddy pirates along the way to help with the dinero. With money that tight, Poe turns into real life simulation it seems. :O
