Unable to ascend on the first trial

Sooo…. I may have messed up my character. I used a portal at the end part of the first trial (the room with the loot creates) where you do your ascension because I wanted to sell off my inventory before I picked up more loot. I didn’t go to the alter where you choose your ascension powers first and now the game won’t let you use your portal back. I really don’t want to start a whole new character so is there any way to fix this??

Why would you create a new character?
Just do the Labyrinth again to regain access to the room. I find it difficult to justify optional purchases to support a Tencent-owned development studio that declines to provide customers Technical Support, regardless of how many thousands of euros that customer has spent...

I have tried that and it won’t let me start a new one. I have a relic and coin to start a new one but on the podium it’s greyed out and I can’t activate it.
