I'm level 85 and just hit tier 15's.
Haven't gotten gear upgrades in forever and starting to hit a bit of a wall, but confident i'll get further once i get some good drops. I just lost a TON of time and money trying to get various alternative builds to work and gave up on them. Last edited by crazyfingers619#3901 on Jul 6, 2025, 12:18:36 PM

That’s what happens when you try to dance at more than one wedding. They were already way behind with POE1, so they literally had to stop developing POE2 to focus on POE1 again after the new season started. Of course, they also had to spend time on bugfixing and hotfixes for POE1. That’s an easy two months lost for POE2. Now they’re slowly getting back to developing POE2, but obviously far behind schedule… Meanwhile, POE1 is getting nothing as well. With this approach, neither POE1 nor POE2 players are satisfied, and both games constantly lack content. Thanks for nothing, GGG.
Remember the “12 months to full release”? Remember the promise of major updates every 3 months, with at least two new classes, tons of new stuff, and new ascendancies? Pffff… These days, you’re lucky if you get ONE new class every 4 months, and maybe a new act – but even that’s not guaranteed. POE2 is limping along with about 10k peak players. People were already bored after one month of the season, let alone four. This way, GGG is managing to annoy both the POE1 and POE2 player bases. Thanks for nothing, GGG. |

" If you get to tier 4 xesht don't doge his physical hand slams that hit for something like 20+K pre-mitigations if you're so confident in the protection armor provides. For your info on why it's generally bad. It does not reduce any sort of non-hit damage, mainly degens and more importantly; works with a formula that does badly against stronger hits ( armor/ (armor+ 12x damage))- that isn't the case with resistances from every other damage type. The absolute tankiest build in the game that I'm aware of doesn't invest that much into armor and has 20K energy shield with 2000 ES regen a second meaning it can take 2000 DPS and remain completely unaffected. Max armour will die to 2000 physocal dps in maybe 2-5 seconds. So by comparison. Armor is bad. Last edited by DankWeebTrash#7386 on Jul 6, 2025, 1:25:43 PM

" This is exactly what I said in another thread. They were either sandbagging this entire time saying it takes 4 months to release anything and purposely dragging out this EA/BETA or they are going to be doing much smaller/broken patches from now on. I am glad they are trying to keep their word by keeping both games going but its not possible with the team they currently have (Only 2 people outside Johnathan who can make balance changes and they were on POE1). So like I previously stated, they cant somehow do twice the work in half the time. Its impossible. |

" You're contradicting yourself there chief. EHP is not calculated in DPS taken, rather in what is the heaviest hit you can receive before death. Armour is not bad per se, what is bad is life scaling, or rather lack of thereof. Life based builds don't have enough options to scale their life pool past 5-6k margin, which used to be absolutely trivial in poe1. That is what needs to be looked into in order to stop the pure ES or hybrid life/ES meta. It's not even a meta at this point, but a necessity due to a total lack of balance. |

" None of that has ANYTHING to do with the server issues. Notice how I'm not moaning about any of the various issues with the actual game itself? Have I ever worked on a game before? No. What does that have to do with anything? Nothing. I've been gaming on and off for most of this century, and never have I encountered such persistent server issues as I've experienced with this game over the last ~6 weeks. GGG and PoE2 aren't so special that they're being subjected to "DDOS, hurr durr" on such a level to cause these problems. Hell, our lord and saviour Jonathan even said that 'DDOS isn't really an issue anymore' in the Tri interview, just prior to the DotH drop - while the lag/dc issues were already a week in to their downward spiral. But then a few weeks later, that's the excuse that's rolled out. Again, I'll reiterate - server issues have NOTHING to do with all the "moving parts and groundbreaking (LOL) systems". If you knew anything about games or computers, you'd understand this. But you don't, which is why you'll keep simping for GGG as you have in the rest of this thread. |

" Again you guys always skip over the greater nuance of these mechanics. Sure, because of stacking max pool, energy shield can become larger, but you're glossing over the bonuses of armor. Armor affects health, and health has specific benefits that energy shield simply doesn't, namely LIFETAP. Lifetap IS HUGE for tankiness. Nothing even COMES CLOSE to the sustain lifetap provides. I can stand in the middle of a ton of enemies, get off a nice charge and just pump my life CONSTANTLY without any fear of death. It's a different kind of tank than life is. I specifically said in my post that I am aware certain big bosses can one shot me. I'm glad they can, because this game would be BORING AS HECK if they couldn't. So this all sounds perfectly balanced to me. If you want the spec that has max burst survivability and can take the absolute max punishment from a single hit if you dance around the outside, energy shield is the way to go. But if you plan to be in the thick of it taking tons of punishment but dishing it out too with melee, then armor's the way. Once you understand the broader systems you understand the tradeoffs. Someone with High armor is also going to have stronger stun resists which will make them less prone to being stunned and less prone to being taken out that way. There are juts a multitude of subtlety here that you guys are TOTALLY glossing over. It actually blows my mind. I do wonder what GGG's stance is on all this though. If they DO understand that armor is strong enough, why don't they come out and just say it? Or is this all an ongoing test to see if the player base can figure it out... Whatever the case, it's a frustrating situation to watch, and in a way reveals our own perceptions of reality as a people, and the nature of tribalism and how the vast majority relenquish their thinking to others, and how once a lie gets put out there, it will take hold and perpetuate itself as common knowledge. It is what it is! You guys could easily try an uber tank build. Spec entirely into BIG armor nodes like +40% armor when surrounded, +1 armor per rage point, get big max rage cap, spec into the big +100% armor on shield and chet piece, there are so many nodes that let you REALLY juice your armor and lifetap, I'm working my way towards the node that makes your lifetap go above the cap. Another trick I do is for ressonating shield, I add 2 gems that produce endurance charges for removing armor, and one that consumes it and provides life rally. And there's a node that provides 60% armor for consuming endurance charges. I'm pretty damned confident that because of the TANKINESS of this build I've been able to reach WAY deeper into late game than damn near any other build could have on absolute trash gear. |

" You sure they don't? Games are wildly complicated organisms, servers interface with the game and keep track of gameplay mechanics. They're one in the same. Didn't GGG recently say that some new functionality they added to try to fix server issues had in fact exacerbated the problem? When did we all begin to talk like experts on issues we have zero knowledge on? I wouldn't usually go out of my way to talk smack, but this constant naysaying, this constant crap talking, if a fact comes out that paints GGG as the badguys it's suddenly true, anything that defends them is suddenly shot down. It's gotten damned rediculous. You guys really gotta take a step back and start questioning your own reality. The game isn't perfect, no game is, but what IS here is arguably one of the best or evne THE BEST ARPG ever made and it's going to get better. You guys are doing eveything in your power to destroy this game. It's childish, it's self destructive, and it's petty. Again, this community needs to grow the heck up, and stop acting like a bunch of babies crying over spilt milk. That terrible company and the terrible game you whine about doesn't exist, you've made them up in your mind because you just want to have a fit. Those of us who want to enjoy the game, who want this game to do well, and want GGG to know that they're on the right track are sick to death of your BS. |

" Why waste your time defending this perfect game when you could be playing? Perhaps you're... trying to justify to yourself that it's worth continuing instead of waiting for the next season? You're shadowboxing, my friend. |
