So if I ignore both mercenaries and memory content this patch...
So I had some brief fun with mercenaries earlier in the campaign until I realized they pretty much shoved uber shaper slam into leveling content, and then mapping content. On the friendly side they drop dead against any serious threat. Overall then, as someone who doesn't play 25 hours a day, I gave up on the mercenary side of things and just gloss over them since getting into mapping.
Then I hear that the memory mapping/bossing content is pretty high up there in difficulty too at or above T17? In summary, I'm getting the feeling that I'm playing this new league as a reset of settlers (again) except I'm extremely poor without the diverse set of enjoyable stash gear ready for any interesting builds, which in my case is mostly melee stuff. If I'm not the intended streaming audience, am I essentially just playing another settlers league with even more restrictive gold costs? Serious question because I enjoyed settlers for many months (no I didn't play 8 hours a day), but I'm not in the mood to do the same thing again if the two main content features of this patch are a "carrot on a stick" in which the carrot is in a different universe. I mean, each patch is generally like this, it doesn't reform the whole game, often it feels similar.
No, memory threads are not necessarily hard unless you role them hard. They can roll the T17 mods but if you roll them with Alterations not Alch, you can get +70% currency and +100% scarabs with mods that might not even impact your build. But if you dont pay attention, yes they can roll hard mods. Mercenarios do feel like stronger Exiles with some random loot, not much more. So yeah, its gonna feel similar to Settlers. But most PoE leagues dont feel THAT different. |
