Ascendency Bug

I made the mistake of not researching before doing my Ascendancy... I chose blood mage. By far the worst mistake ever, so I watched some guides to show me how to change it. I ran a trial based on my ascendency points (it did not work) I double checked . I watched every guide that I could, saw nothing wrong so I did the chaos Trial , again equal to the same ascendancy points (did not work). At this point I'm broke and have no way to run any trials because I tried multiple times and ran out of trial things. (very sad) character is now trash and bricked my whole playthrough. help would be nice<3

just to clarify

you keep saying "i did the trial equal to my ascendancy points"

did you remove the points before attempting the trial again?
