Wait for patches...I'm currently avoiding mercenaries. They either one-shot you, or if you have one, they die on every map. And then GGG had the brilliant idea that you can't revive a mercenary on the map where they died. No, they're just as pointless and useless as the companions in any other ARPG. And personally, mercenaries just annoy me, which is why I've started ignoring them. As far as I'm concerned, the mercenary mechanic can disappear completely after the season and doesn't need to be incorporated into the core game.

Every league mechanic ever. They always overtune whatever they add. And only they know why they do this. Ever since league mechanics were introduced they always, and I mean always, had to nerf them a week or two in. GGG does thins on purpose, and only their twisted sense of humor knows why.

I knew they had damage buffs when they wernt allies, they hit like trucks when you duel them but do no damage as allies.

I've heard they use overwhelm and ele pen in significant amounts. In that case you'd have to go for alternative defensive layers. Phys taken as element to not get overly screwed by overwhelm (Cloak of flame/Lightning coil) and damage taken as other elements/chaos to avoid ele pen, for example via divine flesh, tempered by war, dawnbreaker etc. Adding defenses that provide generic less damage taken like fortify, spell suppression, arctic armour, flesh and stone, doppelganger guise and so on will also help.
Defenses that revole solely around resistances and armor haven't been reliable for endgame content for years now and it's only getting worse with time. |
