Keep getting bluecreens
As the title sais, I keep getting bluescreens to the point that the game is unplayable. This happens only in poe and no other game. So far ive tried different gpu drivers RX 7900 XTX. Tried all 3 rendering engines (DX11,DX12 and Vulcan). This is very frusterating and im hoping someone at GGG or other users have experienced the same and got any solution.

Think you first need either take a screen with you phone of the error code that is shown when you get a blue screen, it might not bee you graphic card but a faulty ram slot or ram stick, that shuts you system when its pushed.
Google: Blue screen error codes, shows you common error codes. Google: Pc blue screen when playing games, and the google ai gives a tldr "Yes, games, especially graphically intensive ones, can cause a blue screen of death (BSOD) on Windows. This happens when a game pushes a computer's hardware to its limits, potentially exposing weaknesses, causing overheating, or revealing software conflicts" "Blue screen errors while playing games can stem from various issues, including outdated or faulty drivers, overheating, or problems with hardware like RAM or the graphics card. To address this, start by updating your graphics drivers and checking for Windows updates. If the problem persists, consider checking for overheating, testing your RAM, and ensuring your power supply is adequate. " RAM: Faulty RAM modules can cause blue screens. Run a memory diagnostic tool (like Windows Memory Diagnostic or MemTest86) to test your RAM for errors. Graphics Card: If the problem persists, consider that the graphics card itself may be failing. If you have another PC, you could test your graphics card in that system to rule out any issues with your card. Overheating: Ensure your PC has adequate ventilation and cooling. Dust can clog fans and lead to overheating. Consider cleaning your PC's components or reapplying thermal paste on your CPU. Some of the result from just google searches. So might wanna 3d benchmark or stress test you system and see what is happening if nothing happens when you stress test it then yeah might bee path of exile or not. Unfortunately, Blue Screen is not a distinct error - it is a category of issues, any one of which renders the continued operation of Windows impossible, hence the obligatory system restart.
While we could potentially try to guide you through the process of tracking down a pertinent log in the Windows Event Viewer, it really would be much easier for you to grab a photo next time, as suggested by Zeddrik. This website doesn't permit image uploads, but you can post a link to the photo here after uploading it on e.g. Imgur. Any questions at all, just give us a shout. :) Today… by divine decree… your patch of Excel, begins.

This only happens in path of exile, no other game. Ive had hwinfo up on my other monitor and none of the sensors have shown any temperatures above 80 degrees.Ive been asking around abit on reddit and it appears that other people with the same graphic card have had the same issues.

I have taken some screenshots from the windows event viewer aswell, but they are so generic it could mean everything from unstable chipset drivers to PSU :/

Seems more people from this thread has you problem https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3794657 and it seems related to pathofexile, my suggestion just clean re install the game as in even remove the file location were pathofexile filters are put in
So when i searched for blue screen error code 0x000004e i got this: "The blue screen error code 0x0000004E, also known as PFN_LIST_CORRUPT, indicates that the Page Frame Number (PFN) list is corrupted. This list is used by the system to manage memory and track the location of data on the hard drive. This corruption can be caused by various issues, including faulty drivers, memory problems, or corrupted system files." Am not saying these things will fix you problem, but running the test the ai gives a list of when searching for blue screen error code 0x0000004E gives results like: "Check RAM: Run a memory diagnostic test (Windows Memory Diagnostic or Memtest86) to identify potential RAM issues." "Run SFC and DISM: Use the System File Checker (SFC) and Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tools to repair corrupted system files." "Check Hard Drive: Run a disk check (chkdsk) to identify and fix potential errors on the hard drive." is a few of the suggestions, nway am of to bed and am not a pc expert its just some of the steps i took to a old blue screen i had and it was a faulty memory stick that was causing the crashes Last edited by Zeddrik#7843 on Jun 18, 2025, 7:38:15 PM
