infernal cry + mana leech how does it work

me and my firend are having a discussion and we cant find a clear anwser on this topic

we are tryinjg to find out how the mana leech works exactly on infernal cry
if its only the combust by infernal cry or is it every exerted attack and the fire damage bonus
all the info online does not really give a definitive awnser
we do see the skill getting used allot together with the support but is there someone who has the knowledge and info on this when and what it gives mana leech on

i tried to test this but i already have mana leech and coult not disable it so i have no way to test it out myself

Supports attack skills that hit enemies, causing those hits to leech mana based on damage dealt.

Exerting just gives bonuses to your attacks. E.g. if you use Ground Slam + Mana Leech, you'll leech mana factoring in the extra fire damage from Infernal Cry.

If you use Infernal Cry + Mana Leech, you'll leech mana from Combust's damage - attack the support gem is linked to.
