Since Friday until today, I keep getting constant disconnects. I’ve lost so many maps and stuff because of these incompetents,

Losing Portales,Stuff, Currency, everything. GGG is ruining our weekend — people who take time to play this game. And they don’t even get any compensation

This is my reaction to their ‘statement’ post.

Man I'm not happy either, but blaming GGG for someone DDoSing them is whack. Especially when you consider that even huge companies do not have good DDoS protection because it really isn't a trivial or even solved problem.
So what are you saying, hackers can just ruin every online game if they feel like it? Why haven't they done the same to other popular online games then?

They have though. Wasn't WoW DDoS'd not too long ago, and D4 too? This year has been wild for DDoS too, there has been an increase of 350% of DDoS attacks in Q1 2025.
The league mechanic is it's own DDOS attack. That group farm + 1 merc per player stuff would be my first guess why the crashes come back over and over again.
I remember ddos back in the ultima online days wasn't aware it was still a thing tbh lol

There's a difference between performance issues & instability.

For all we know, the Merc league servers have half the usual limit of instances on them to counteract any additional CPU cycles & RAM used by the additional entities in use. I doubt it, but it's possible. While significantly increased resource-utilisation per instance could be problematic (and I do think we are perhaps overstating the impact of a single extra dude running around), I would expect that to manifest as latency spikes & stuttering rather than outright crashes.
I find it difficult to justify optional purchases to support a Tencent-owned development studio that declines to provide customers Technical Support, regardless of how many thousands of euros that customer has spent...
