[PC, Gamepad] Bugged socket selection mode

When hovering over a piece of equipment and selecting socket mode (circle on Playstation), a number of unexpected behaviors occur.

The specific behavior is dependent on whichever socket was highlighted when the player last exited socket mode. This is the socket that socket mode attempts to first highlight.

Depending on which socket is first highlighted, the number of sockets, the item size, and the item's position in the inventory:

+ Normal behavior is observed only when highlighting the first socket.
+ The cursor may move to an adjacent space, recoverable by moving it back into the item. Socket mode works as expected afterwards.
+ The cursor may move to a diagonal/disjointed space, or even one outside of the inventory. The cursor cannot be moved. The worst one.
+ The cursor may highlight a filled/empty socket while showing the tooltip for another.

Same thing is happening to me and it’s super frustrating. Sometimes I’ll toss another socketed item into my inventory right where I think the cursor’s going to jump—just to help guide it back to the gem I actually want to select. Otherwise, I’m stuck pulling the gems out while the item is equipped, since the weird cursor behavior doesn’t happen there. It didn’t used to do this, but yesterday it suddenly started acting up—whenever I try to select a gem in a socketed item in my inventory, the cursor goes wild and won’t land where I need it to.
