New Character bug

Load into the zone, talk to the dying exile and nothing happens. Hillock zone. Can't attack him, just talk to the exile, nothing goes.

There's NPC's in the zone, was able to kill one for some gloves, but can't get my initial skill gem or weapon.

Same issue here.

To elaborate a bit: there is a weapon on the beach where you start.
The Dying Exile won't be attacked by the zombie that'll drop a skill gem if you don't have a weapon equipped.

If you can't see the weapon on the beach, try turning the "Always Highlight" option on, and then either hold Alt or turn off your loot filter.
