Animate Guardian started to dual-vield instead of replacing the sword

Hey All! FYI: FIRST TIME USING AG

I hope someone can provide me with the information i am seeking even if it will lowkey break my heart maybe.

The situation i am in is basically that my AG had Paradoxica and a Shield on. After farming enough i got my hands on a nice upgrade to Paradoxica and went to replace it. Well turns out it does not replace it like with other items on the guardian so instead it started to dual-vield.

First of all, i have no idea which sword is which.
What happens if i equip the shield again?
Did i just brick my AG and have to waste both weapons?

Of course the desired outcome would be the new upgraded Paradoxica and a Shield and not to waste my hours of farming into nothingness..

Working as intended. If you want to change AG one-hander, the general rule is to use another shield first. In your case, if you use a new shield, AG will use this shield and his right-hand weapon.

So basically if i would ever want to upgrade the main hand when i have sword/shield on it i would have to give it a 2-hander, then the sword then the shield? This makes the shield go to waste and the weapon too :(

And i just wasted my monuies on the upgrade today and have to refarm and then redo the process in the right way.... SAD big time

AG switches hands on equipping items, but can carry shields as a left-hand only. So, if you replace his shield with a new one first, new weapon will keep the shield and replace the right-hand weapon.
