inventory items appearance blurred

Since the last patch, I've experienced bizarre visual artifacts on my older machine: mostly inventory items (but sometimes in other UI screens as well, such as the passive tree or atlas) appear blurred or jagged with a bizarre background (often hot pink). I assume this has something to do with the memory cache being reset after the latest patch, but I have exited and restarted the PoE client a number of times and still see this effect. What's bizarre is that sometimes it is one item or type of item (e.g. a ruby flask but not a topaz one) and other times it is something else (e.g. orbs of alteration but not chaos orbs).
Can I do anything about this?
