Mercenaries only doable on sc and not hc, why?

I just have one question, why did you make mercs only playable and doable on softcore? No love for HC at all...

It's just impossible to do them on HC when a stupid shield charge one hits you for like 1 billion damage, and bunch of other skills also onehits.

If you're gonna have super overpowered mercs, atleast make it so you wont die if you lose the duel so Hardcore players also can enjoy the league mechanic, at current state as HC player there is no point even looking at what they have since most of the mercs will oneshot you and send you back to Hillock.

So maybe nerf them like ALOT, or as said above - Make it so you dont die from the duels but only mercs disappears if you lose, than it doesnt matter how strong they are but atleast HC players can also enjoy the game fully aswell. And not being forced to play softcore if they wanna do league mechanic...

Man, I thought I was the only one dying to them in one hit. Thank god I'm playing softcore right now. Hardcore would make me quit playing this league.

I feel like it was designed with the idea that you will often lose a duel and thus lose renown, which is an idea that's incompatible with HC. And you can't do much about it because unlike even the strongest of bosses, their skills are barely telegraphed at all and suffer from massive visibility issues. It doesn't work for the same reason PvP doesn't work.

I really hope it never goes core. Came back after a 3 years break and immediately stumbled onto a league mechanic i absolutely hate. Wish i was there for settlers instead.
