It closes without finishing starting

I was waiting for the update, after that I was able to play for a couple of hours before having to exit, when I tried to start the game at night I couldn't do it because it tries to start, but closes before finishing booting.

If you play via Steam - go to Properties (right click on PoE) - Installed files - Verify integrity of game files.

Also update GPU drivers.

Well the problem happened to me when playing from Epic, I switched to Steam and I couldn't solve anything either, even right now I downloaded the launcher from the direct Poe page and I still have the problem, I already checked the files, as well as updated all my drivers with the Dirverbooster program and I still haven't solved the problem, seriously it seems super strange to me because I was able to play for a while right after the update I even got my first mercenary, but now I can't even log in and that's driving me crazy, please I need help with that

Same here. Updated drivers, reinstalled game, checked everything i could.. And I still CAN'T even launch the game! All I have is - black screen, sometimes music from main menu turns on for a while but no visuals, not even ggg intro. After some moment ( 15-20 seconds ) window shuts down by itself.

I described the situation of last 3 days - every time same scenario.

It's worth to mention I NEVER had any major problem with game and I played it for last 8 years..

NOW I CANNOT EVEN LAUNCH A GAME !!! @.@

Please, it's something we would like you to solve for us. The truth is that I was really fond of the game.

yeah same here, at first i created my character and after some times game have and update, after the update i cannot play the game cause instant crashes on startup.

I'm also experiencing this issue,

game launches

about 20 seconds of a black loading screen (not unusual for long load times)

then game crashes back to desktop.

no errors displayed, no login screen displayed.

playing from steam. was able to play before 3.25.0b been crashing after this update

Hello, same here.
It was working well yesterday night but not after the patch on the morning.
-> Launch from steam, black screen, game quit.
Updating drivers/checking files/suppressing some temp files didn't worked.
Please keep us posted if you find a way to fix this.

Found a fix that worked for me.

open production config with notepad located C:/documents/My Games/Path of Exile/production_Config.ini. and change the renderer to DX11.

Search for the line that says this "device_type=DirectX12"
and change it to this "device_type=DirectX11"
it was on line 115 for me about 1/4 of the way down the document.
