Controller: Item Pickup/Interact Is Annoying With Patch Changes
This post refers to this line in the patch notes, and my gameplay experience:
* Enemy and interactable targeting is now separate when using a Controller. Items are able to be picked up while enemies are present and targeted. In previous patches, it was possible to pick up items while enemies were present; you simply had to rotate your left or right sticks around and spam the A button. It was a bit janky, yes, but it was possible. But now, if I bind any spell to A, if an item or an interactable object like a vase/pot is in my vicinity, then I cannot use the spell. This is, to me, a worse game experience than pre-patch. Please give us the ability to *bind* 'force interact' or 'force pickup'. That way, I can bind whatever I want to A (a spell), and then bind this new functionality to another button (I'd probably do Right trigger + A, personally.) The current behavior is especially annoying when you're fighting monsters surrounded by random interactable crap that I would literally never care to actually click. It makes combat very annoying. What helped me was not binding my main ability to my X button, or for you A, and i was able to play the game again. It was god aweful trying to fight with loads of items on the ground. I literally had to fight around the items just to make sure I could do abilities. However with my ability now on square it is amazing. Honestly its just like how Last Epoch has it and that is how they should do it for there controller set up. Or just give us the option to bind those buttons to something else.
