Please allow us to turn off the pause when lagging feature.

This video I made shows the issue and how my league is borderline unplayable. If this feature were disabled for me, I would have no issues. I have been playing on this horrid connection for the last 2 years and the little lag jumps have never been an issue for me. Sometimes annoying of course but nowhere close to stopping me from enjoying the game. Please, I beg you, let me disable this feature. I absolutely adore this league and expansion and want to play it so much but this is really ruining it.

I recorded a gameplayvideo to demonstrate the same for PoE2 weeks ago where that thing was bothering me for months almost every afternoon and the player numbers were low already.

I hate to say "Same", but actually yeah, I also have a below average connection and before this league it was playable, now it's not. so... Same here
Same here, some instances are unplayable.
Because game PAUSE, I cant use skills, potions or anything, game just keep pausing and unpausing.

Auto pause NEEDS to be opt out.

Auto pause sounded great but as all things that GGG implemented, it is half-assed.
For the first time in 5 years that I've been playing this lovely game, It is borderline unplayable. I had a delayed league start so I'm not even in the endgame super juiced maps where the FPS can go as low as 1 !!! So I only have a small idea how the things will go and I don't like it one bit.

LATENCY IS NOT THE ONLY ISSUE. I am speaking from personal experience and observation but this can and will apply to anyone in one way or another.
Sure, anybody could have foreseen that a poor network connection will cause some sort of pausing but these micro stutters are just ABHORRENT and there should at least be a higher threshold or better yet and option TO DISABLE it.

Also, when was this EVER an ISSUE? Literally noone plays hardcore with bad internet and everyone there has a logout macro. What good is a logout macro when the game RESPONDS to NOTHING during a pause... And what purpose does auto pause have when the game disconnects the user on connection loss anyways?

What I personally didn't expect was how poorly the game performance would interact with this ATROCIOUS feature. You see the network connection is mostly handled by the CPU, and even if a user had a dedicated network card, the communication would still be handled by the CPU.
Consider this scenario, you are playing a super juiced maps, 100% delirious, breaches and beyond. There is at least 100 monsters on the screen at any given time. Surely you can imagine that this will have an impact on the performance, not to mention low end PCs. So now you have a system that is struggling to compute all the monsters on the screen and totally forgets about handling the network and oopsie what is that? The user is not responding? Well let's pause the game except the user is still there and so the game just keeps stuttering/freezing on and on. Worst of all, when the game pauses, the computing power doesn't go down, and even if the user is holding the attack button to literally "kill the lag" nothing happens because the game is paused. And literally the worst of the worst ISSUES with this is that the game responds to no commands during the pause. Last league, even with 1 FPS when you saw you were dying you could have just pressed a flask and save yourself, but now when the game is paused, you can smash the flask button all you want but nothing happens and you die making this feature utterly USELESS since it's primary intent was to prevent players from dying.

Now let's talk about the scenario of the OP and why it's not a latency issue. Literally every single league, people complain how the game lags and that it's unplayable. The reason this happens is cuz of how poorly shader caching is handled in PoE. And every time a new league launches, all of the 30 GB of cached shaders get cleared. This has been going on for many leagues yet I barely see anyone talk about shaders, just dozens of forum posts about FPS drops every single league launch... Any time you see an object, the shader has to be either retrieved or created which is handled by the CPU which can cause FPS drops, but this league is the worst cuz it's not just the fps drops, it's also paired with auto pause which causes unbearable STUTTER/MICRO FREEZE.

Sure my computer isn't the best, in fact it's barely capable of running the super endgame content. It's only reasonably bearable after a sufficient amount of caching has been done. I frequently experienced 1 FPS, like last league when I was fighting giga exiles(all the MTX schill and stuff). For leagues I have been able to circumvent these occurrences by playing immortal mirror tier builds with millions of DPS and just stand there and keep smashing until the FPS got back up. In the 5 years of me playing this game, I am for the first time actually AFRAID that I will no longer be able to play this game just because of this ONE POORLY IMPLEMENTED FEATURE. If only I could DISABLE it.

If nothing of this is convincing, literally type "path of exile auto pause" into google and read the AI digest. You know that the thing is bad if an LLM is picking up chatter about how poor the implementation of the auto pause feature is.
