Golem elementalist suggestion for new league



I have been playing POE for a few months now, and barely just reach part of the end game contents.

I decided to do a golem elementalist build to relieve the good old D2 days of a skellymancer, after seeing some golem necromancer build floating around the past few leagues.

Just created my new witch, and just want to know how you guys level up enough to get golems? I am still sticking with rolling magma + zombies and almost done with Act 1, but it feels slow as f.

Personally, I am thinking of going lightning with the following gems build:
Hordes + Minion Damage + Minion Speed + Chain Support + Critical Strike + Critical Damage

You guys think it is viable for end game, or should I go back with classic flame golem of hordes?

Also, does the exposure on hit effect in gloves count towards minion hits? If the exposure on hit in gloves do not count minion hits, then I am thinking of switching to use vixen entrapment to apply either Assassin's Mark or Sniper's Mark whenever I cast Conductivity.

Then to apply exposure, I will be using Storm Call with Mastermind of Discord ascendancy skill. At the same time, use AG with Legacy of Fury to apply scorch for more damage.

Any suggestions? I am trying to make a new build with limited dependencies on high-end rare or uniques.
