Stash tabs from POE 2 TO POE 1

Hi I purchased a bunch of quad stash and other stashs from POE 2, and now I am playing poe 1 for the new league but the stashes I puchased didn't carry over. This happens to my friends as well. He has tons of stash in poe2 including special ones but he only find four free regular stash when entering poe1. Is this on purpose?
