Issues with picking items up using controller

Has anyone experienced issues with picking items up using controller? Just started a new character and picking the first weapon is just not working. It only highlights as if i can pick it up when i am out of range to actually do so.

I have swapped back to M&KB and it works fine then but reverts back when i swap back to controller.

Nevermind, it was an issue with ultrawide resolution! all sorted when i changed to windowed mode.
