Consistent Crash when entering several zones
Every time I zone into the slave pens my game hard crashes.
The same thing happens zoning in to the overseer's tower and Lioneye's watch (act 6). I can hear the audio of the zone start to play, but before the loading screen disappears the game crashes with no error message. Towns in act 1-4 and 7-10 seem to load without issue. I've updated my graphics drivers to the latest. I've tried lowering graphics setting. I've deleted the shader cache. I've verified the integrity of the game files in steam. I've entered the zones with different characters, both from the in world portal in act 4 and the waypoints. I'm on an Nvidia graphics card on 570.133.07, the same thing was happening on 535.230.02 If there is anything else I can try or any other information I can provide I will do so. Been experiencing the same thing since the middle of Settlers league. Had to completely miss the Phrecia event.
Does it also happen when you're launching the game sometimes? |

I have not noticed it crash on startup, but I only started de-rusting on Monday, so I'm not sure what patch introduced it.

This is still happening to me post 3.26.
Progression is blocked for me at the end of act 4. Updated log output sine it looks like there are some new log entries: " |

This has been a problem for a WHILE now. Ruined Phrecia for me. They aren't doing anything about it :(

Can you verify that your experience is the same as mine?
Specifically a crash when entering the act 5 and act 6 towns and the slave pens. The crash happens on the loading screen. I can hear audio of the zone starting, the loading wheel stutters and then the game crashes to desktop. Some advice if you are going to test this, testing the slave pens is fine since it will zone you character back to the last town you are in, but testing the act 5 and 6 towns will get your character stuck there, so use some old character you aren't playing anymore. If you match this experience closely can you post system information, logs, and any technical troubleshooting steps you tried? Client crashes like this are hard to debug since the game may crash before it can send logs to the server, thus GGG may not have much to go on. The more information we can provide in a single place the better. |

Just an update on this for anyone else suffering similar symptoms.
I took the plunge and deleted the game (including all residual config) and reinstalled it. That fixed the problem. As I rebuild my configuration I'll check to see if any particular config setting was to blame, but the likelihood is that some cached shader or undetected corrupted file was to blame. |
