Volatile Dead needs changes. It's so bad not even energy blade inquisitor can lift it to usability.

I love the spell. homing fire balls is just fun. But because Volatile Dead is a distant cousing of Deotnate Dead (and a short window of being used in OP build like 10 years ago) it was constantly being nerfed either directly or indirectly.

The most pleasant use of Volatile Dead is via channeling, which means it's a 4~link setup at most, where both cyclone and desecrate need to be linked.


Here's my plea to GGG:

1. Buff Volatile Deads flat damage numbers. I don't care for its corpse %max hp damage. it's close to impossible to scale to proper numbers and after hundreds of nerfs to corpse life it's 99 cases out of 100 just insignificant amount.

2. Make volatile dead a standalone spell that doesn't require corpses and let it consume corpses for additional, unrelated to corpse HP, damage.



It saddens me to no end such a fun little spell with drawbacks and low numbers gets shunted aside while skills and spells that scale to hundred millions of dps get buffed for some inane reason.

CWC with corpsewalker feels terrible. it doesnt generate enough corpses for sustain. I've been there tried that. Brand for corpse generation... You know.. it is getting silly how much you are excusing volatile dead weakness, while its popularity is sub .1%.

CoC wants explosions and uses DD and VD and anything that drowns the target in AOE

Poets pen is clunky gameplay - might be viable, yet it's almost the same as CoC. Brand and corpsewalker are terrible suggestions.

If the skill was actually fine people would play it - heck, I would play it. Yet (almost) nobody has. And those that did ended up with DPS comparable to a 5link fireball build on second day of league. And now when content will be by default more difficult i dont see anyone touching volatile dead even more.
