All characters wiped

As the title says all my characters from all previous leagues have been wiped.

I updated my client as I hadn't played in a few months. After the update the game loaded in as if it was my first time playing with no characters showing. It would then crash after roughly 20 seconds. The crashes cleared up after deleting the caches, however, all my characters were still gone.

When I check my pathofexile.com account, it did show my last created character, however, when I click on 'Switch Character', it would bring up the character screen like usual but just remain blank with the loading/refresh symbol spinning.

I created a new character as a test to see if my tabs and items in stash were still there - which they were. After that, my pathofexile.com account reloaded to the newly created character and allowed me to use the 'Switch Character' button which only displayed this newly created character - none of my previous character were there anymore.

Hoping to get some support with restoring my characters.
