Never Played Poe - Should i start with 1 or 2?

played alittle bit of 1, but never made it far,went back to diablo 3 at the time. Want to get early access for poe 2 but seems like the game still in early access and id like to get supporter pack down the line before it ends.

there so much going on with both games its overwhelming.

poe 2 only has much better graphics. Thats cool for a while until you realise the game is just bad. Play the new poe 1 league but only hardcore. Softcore is too easy and boring.

Depends on what you want to get out of the experience

Poe2 probably more beginner friendly, has fancier graphics and wasd/dodge roll are very nice. The moment to moment combat feels better than poe1 (imo).But its still very much an early access and lacks the breadth and depth of content that poe1 has.

Poe1 has more of the mechanics that are the reason people play for thousands of hours. Theres enough variety that even if only 10% of the endgame appeals to you its still 100+ hours of content each league.

So if you want more fluid combat and to experience everything in the game I'd recommend poe2.

If you want to have multiple avenues of progression, long and short term goals, discover a myriad of different game modes and don't mind the older graphics- then id recommend poe1.

I started with poe1 and without using guides. It was a struggle but a fun one. By the time I beat searing exarch (the beginning of the middle of the endgame sorta) id died 3000 times.

Unless you're the sort of person to complain because there isn't 1000+ hours per season of content then PoE2 is golden

Doubly so if you use a controller

PoE1 is currently in a much better state at the moment, but it's also different to both PoE2 and Diablo 3.

I think you might enjoy PoE2 more from a gameplay perspective, but it's obviously not in the best state atm because 0.2 was kinda rough balance wise.

Might be that your best bet is to wait for next PoE2 patch, or potentially full release.
