Mercs in 5-way levelling

- Do gems in merc gear gain levels? (I'm guessing not)
- Do incubators work on merc gear? (I haven't heard either way)

The above two could potentially increase the payoff of 5-way leveling if they work.

I doubt it for both of those. It would seem to confer too much of an advantage to be supported.

Incubators don't gain exp when there in your alt weapon slot so I expect Mercs will be treated the same way.

99.99% certain you can't put gems or jewels in merc gear, same as AG. Incubators are interesting.

GGG said Mercs dont have gems. They have level ranges, so at times you will need to find a higher level Merc, until your at Mercs highest level.

All the footage that we've seen showed 0 gems in any of the sockets, so I'd say gems are definitely out of the question.

As for incubators, they are attached to the items, yes, though I doubt they will work that way. We don't know what the hidden (attached) condition/flag is that makes them only work when active and equipped on your character. There may be limitations present that prevent them from doing anything on Mercs. And tbh, I think GGG might have thought of that. They are usually really good at catching most stuff beforehand - with exceptions, obviously.

Do their kills count towards your /kills?

If they don't you could play an aurabot challenge to reach level 100 with only 1 /kill to get the first merc...

Fellow Exile, we know as much as you do. They haven't given us anything substantial yet. I guess we are supposed to figure it out for ourselves.

You can use incubators on merc gear. However the kill count doesn't increase.
