Incinerate of venting cancels the current channel on kill when linked to spell totem
As the title says.
Incinerate of venting, when linked to a spell totem, will cancel channeling if the totem gets a kill. If more enemies are in range it will restart channeling from 0 stages after each kill. This effectively makes the skill useless for spell totems in scenarios, where there are low hp targets (mapping), as the totem would restart the channel for every mob in a pack. I cannot see how this should be intended, and I believe the skill should have the same AI as stormburst when linked to spell totem. While waiting for GGG to address it, has anyone tried it with Gravebind? Player can get all the kills (thus benefit from stuff like life on kill, etc) so I'm curious if the totem never kills, if they just maintain the maximum stacks or if it is targeting issue where changing from one target to another is what is causing the reset.
If it still loses stacks while just changing targets, I feel like there is at least 1 other channel skill on totem that does the same thing back when I played a totem build pre-transfig gems. Then becomes a question of GGG to do a pass on every channel skill with totems for consistency ("only" 24 of them?) if there are other channel skills that don't lost stacks while changing targets. |

When the totem channels on a high HP enemy it will reach and maintain maximum stages, as long as the enemy stays in range (and it does not kill it before reaching maximum stages).
I'm not sure how to test it with target changes, but I would expect the same behavior as when killing an enemy. I can at least confirm, that the channeling behavior is the same when wearing Gravebind. Last edited by Lucifaxx#7793 on Jun 11, 2025, 5:13:21 PM

I think it makes sense given that they are now buffing tansfig gems which "did not hit the mark", that they also look at how these gems interact with totems.

It is possible to get a statement on, if the behavior is intended or not?
