Frost shield absorps heartbound loop self damage

Hello,

I could be misunderstanding but I think it's possible that frost shield absorbs the self damage from heartbound loop.

I think it shouldn't, as damage from hits by enemies is specified on the skill gem?

I found an automatically locked thread from 2 years ago that reported the same with forbidden rite.
