Unassigned stash tabs from POE1, but charging for new one’s?

Straight forward question. I have 8 Unasigned stash tabs that’s are being held by the game and cannot be used until you decide to assign them to a special tab. Here comes 2 more new tabs that are currency holders for mechs in game. Why would you decide to charge players that have a large sum of tabs yet to be created by you, just doing nothing???? These tabs should be used up first to replace the removed tabs in poe1, then charging for new tabs would be the play! I find this action very hard to hold my voice. Do you and as a company think this is an ethical thing to do??? Please explain the reason behind this choice. Thanks

Last week I went to McDonalds and I couldn't finish my fries. Today I go to McDonalds again but the guy had the gall to charge me for the fries again.
