[Website] I’m Now Using a Browser Extension To Make the Forum Tolerable

Note: This is very much a follow-on from [Website] Unlimited Anything Is Always a Mistake - Please Cap Forum Badges, which is now auto-locked and no longer accepting new posts (fair enough).

I'm now using the following filters in uBlock Origin;

"
! 7 Jun 2025 https://www.pathofexile.com
pathofexile.com##.clearfix.badges:not([class*="legacy"])

! 7 Jun 2025 https://poe.game.daum.net
poe.game.daum.net##.clearfix.badges:not([class*="legacy"])

They are intended to permit the original forum supporter titles - which are capped at a reasonable-to-generous seven - but to hide the new-style badges which do not have a known cap and can be utterly ridiculous; they are especially egregious in combination with particularly short forum posts. The filters should work across all forums, regardless of that language's specific forum URL.

Speaking as someone who has spent thousands of euros supporting you - and who once spent half a grand on your website itself - I do wish I hadn't felt the need to resort to the above.

Assuming you plan to keep releasing supporter packs - and I am making that assumption - I don't think even significantly shrinking the new badges in size would make the lack of a cap reasonable. Sooner or later you will need to impose a cap; you might as well get around to that now.

The current badge cap is high enough that it's problematic too. Either as a global setting, or dynamically on shorter posts I suggest switching to a smaller 6 or 8 across badge size.

6 across would fit 18 in the space currently used by 8, or all 64 (and room for 66) in slightly more space than 28 current badges take.

8 across would fit 64 into the same amount of space that 16 currently take; and allow room for a few more years of expansion.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?
64 cap is like no cap

ive been using ublock to hide this (and few other invasive elements) on forums for YEARS. it is always shocking just how repulsive the experience is without that (sadly cannot do that to MTX in towns)

definitely a 'no bling' option is in order
They could just, ya know update the webpage above 800x600.

I remember when they made some cool wallpapers while back but they were in 800x600. Hell, took them forever to upload videos on Youtube at higher quality. I was poking fun a while back.

This is what I see on 3440x1440p. Gunna be even more hilarious when I upgrade to 5120 x 2160.

Heh, I remember asking them to move to 2560 x 1440;

I mean, okay - fair.

But if the cap is so high people don't even realise there is one, I think it's fair to take on the "no cap is silly" feedback as instead being "the cap is too high" feedback. A lot of my posts with 7 of the old school titles look silly. Some of the one-liner + 64 badge posts are ridiculous.

I'm still unironically running those two uBlock Origin custom filter rules because I just find the forum annoying to browse otherwise. Eventually I might just make uBO hide all supporter badges & titles, but I'm not there yet and I wouldn't expect a first-party solution for that.
