help grandpa play

grandpa is 75, blind in one eye, deaf in one ear, and plays on xbox console. Years ago he played POE on pc, but can no longer play piano keyboard, hence console.

Im looking for a build that he can play, not too fast, not too many keys to smash is required. He prefers melee vs ranged, but help him out.

RF or Minions would be my bet, to be honest with you

The "easy" melee build would be cyclone (of any variety). One button is all you need aside from movement skills and flasks.

If it doesn't disorient him, flicker is always good too. The upside of flicker is you don't need to care about targeting or movement speed; just hold down the button and stab away. Main downside is it makes many people nauseated from the quick camera movement and if he already has vision problems then it might not be a good idea.

For more deliberate action but without strict targeting, any slam build. A bleed/ignite one gives a lot of freedom of movement.

You can't go wrong with Shockwave Cyclone. Movement and attacking become one. Slap on some Stampede boots for 150% base movement speed and your gramps will be chilling.

I do agree with the OP here regarding minion and/or cyclone (spin-to-win) setups as I am 55 and my reflexes are not as sharp as once was :) Given your relative is 75 and still playing games like this, all I can say is I hope I am like your grampa when I hit 75 :) I'll let you know 20-years from now ...LOL

i appreciate the suggestions... his favorite was a bleed duelist in the past...cyclone is too hard to see, too much happening at once, same with the clear screen builds like arc, frostbolt. Grandpa likes these suggestions and is giving me feedback.

Cast when stunned chieftian or juggernaut is a 1 button build. Kinda rough to league start on it but most of the uniques are cheap after the first week minus defiance of destiny.

Maybe league start as something like cyclone to get yourself 20-30 div saved and then respec?

Slayer cyclone w/General’s Cry.
You automate the cry and other war cries. Mark on hit support or curse on hit ring. Automation or Cast When Damage Taken Molten Shell or Steelskin for defensive layer.
2 button build - Cyclone and Leap Slam.

RF can also be low button pressure with(trap/direct damage) and movement as only buttons needed. May need to use Blasphemy if you want to free up a possible interaction when applying a curse.

There’s a few others like Blade Vortex cast on crit (damage) that may feed your fancy as well.
