why nerf Choir of the Storm in the middle of the league sunddenly?

Why the sudden mid-league nerf to Choir of the Storm? This feels like a baffling decision that actively harms spellcasters who were already struggling.

Spell builds have been barely viable this league, while spear bd dominate every piece of content. Instead of addressing the actual imbalance—skills trivializing the game with minimal investment—GGG chose to gut a critical item for spellcasters.

Now, after players invested heavily in Choir of the Storm builds, their builds are crippled overnight. This isn’t balance—it’s forcing everyone into the same 2 meta skills while punishing those trying to make spells work. Mid-league nerfs to niche items demoralize your player base and invalidate hours of farming.

If the goal was to "shake up the meta," why not:

Buff underused spells instead of nerfing their key items?

Tune the overtuned skills actually warping the game?

Wait for the next league to implement changes?

This approach feels tone-deaf. Spells need love, not random, unjustified nerfs while the real elephants in the room go untouched.

It's the only good thing that Devs brought to this patch so far. But there are more broken builds that they need to nerf.

Why is the Bleed / Lightning Spear Blood Mage Still playable but you nerf choir of the storm for COC single target? I spent a good week shopping to make my friend that build so he could have fun, now it's basically dead on single target without huge investments. All of the gear is already overpriced too thanks to popularity, why was LS not nerfed for the entirety of the league leading up to this specific nerf which seems to only really operate with an end game variant?

Had such a great time walking around with my mate while I was playing essence drain only for him to throw a spear backwards, not even forwards and clear 3 screens of mobs before I could even apply an essence drain to something. Seems pretty stupid no? Also the COC build is quite squishy, if you really wanted to nerf the interaction maybe just nerf the damage of it. Anyway, rant over I guess but yeah why nerf it mid league

They already did it and killed my build with Beira's Anguish after they said they wouldn't do this sheet.

I learned after that, you better just play Lightning Spear and shut up.

GGG is on track to kill the only thing that has kept POE around. Build diversity.

Nobody is coming back for the rest of this league, we know it, they know it.

If you don't like this games state right now, just leave like I did.
Let them know with the player count.

Bloodmage who depends on COC and not have any extra layer of defence (like armor, evasion, ES), have really small energy shield, trade own HP for dmg, only protection is spell cast, is struggling now.
Make spell cost even more, GGG. Let us all run with spears.

I was wondering why my damage wasn't feeling good and actually I died in trial of chaos. Came to forums and found out about this stealth nerf. Seriously, I enjoyed stormweaver spark last patch and now I couldn't duplicate so I played blood mage crit spark and this build gets nerfed too. I literally can't play these builds, Lightning Spear is so boring but if you try other stuff you will pay the price for it. I think it might be time to quit and come back in 1.0.

Every time nerfs coming someone quitting from the game. With this logic people played with Crossbow should have quitted even from the beginning of the game couse no other weapon was so junk with no vial builds from the beginning.

We've expecting sooner or later Spear and the other 2 broken builds to be nerfed.

And then we gonna see who is profi-player to reach 100 level...
