Character Deletion

With the new league coming up I have to delete some characters I have in standard but, I had sent an email to merge accounts back in December and am still waiting for it to happen, and I had to send character names associated with the accounts.

If I delete characters I sent the names of will I mess up the process or would it be ok to delete whatever?
