need help with glaciation support

I am using permafrost bolts and in the skill description it says that it applies 88% more freeze build up. in advanced info the skill lists it’s freeze build up modifier to be 88%; makes sense. When I socket glaciation support that adds 50% more freeze build up the skill modifier still says 88%; does not make sense, should it not read higher? is glaciation support doing anything?
