Azmeri Spirits. Everything I found wrong about it

Azmeri Spirits. Everything I found wrong about it

All the problems I found

  1. I wanted to try spirits side of the tree, even in their shittiest state.
  2. BUT! I almost always find the Derwin (or what his name is) at the end of the map, after all rares are dead. There is not a single mechanic that is so dependent on the existence of rares. That's lame.
  3. I usually always have the same clear path of the single map (I clear them completely even after map completion).
  4. I always go around the map by the "edge" and only then go to the center — that way I don't need to come back to some corner to check, I've already been there. BUT! Spirits are always going in the wrong direction, which breaks my clear path. I don't know how problematic it is for anyone else, but to me it's pretty problematic.
  5. It's slow and annoying. Why do I need to follow it?
  6. I understand this mechanic is supposed to feel different than others, and it's cool that you guys want to achieve that — but let's polish it out.
  7. The drop is not worth it at all. It's shit, it's not noticeable at all.
  8. I feel bad when I have to skip Azmeri Spirits on my maps, and I HAVE to.

Now upsides

  1. I LOVE orange spirits, freaking love them.
  2. I respecced my atlas tree ONLY to farm these orange ones. I don't care about talismans, though it would be nice to have them — but I would gladly farm them even in this shitty state if every spirit did what orange does (upgrading the monsters).
  3. I use Spirit Prosecutor tablets to buff bosses.
  4. Honestly, I'm not sure that I'm getting much more drop — it seems like it, but I'm not sure. Maybe it's just the power of imagination.

Some ideas and solutions

  1. MAKE. ATLAS. BIGGER. And I mean BIGGER — like 4 to 5 times bigger.
  2. Please! I want every mechanic to have much more flexibility to fit every playstyle. For example, I want to see in every mechanic on the atlas tree node something that shows you where the mechanic is on the map from the very beginning. It will not solve the 1st problem in the best way, but it's at least something.
  3. So there are a few ideas how to make it better.
  4. Let's imagine the map is cleared — when I step in the range of the wisp, it will spawn all the monsters and rares within its range while it's traveling, kinda like Breach does. (Maybe add some flowers or trees to fit that mechanic's theme.) It will possibly solve the problem of empty mapping. AND! If there are already existing mobs still left on the map, the spirits upgrade them like orange does.
  5. Let's make them combine together,
  6. but make it so if I activate a few wisps at the same time, they will combine together into a more powerful wisp — like orange — and will affect the boss at the end. This will make juicing maps with wisps more viable, and respeccing into the tree will pay off. But there needs to be some tweaking done — maybe make the range of the wisps bigger? Because I've run into a problem when I activated two wisps at the same time, but I need to be in range of both at once, which is not comfortable — one wisp is ready to disappear while I'm running for the last one. OR! Make a few wisps — like in games where you combine three into one silver monster and three silvers into one gold one. But with wisps: two normal ones into one orange one, and if it happens to find two orange wisps at the same time, they will combine into a freaking superwisp that gives you wisp-like pinnacle stuff.

Bro, I even wrote a song... Here it goes...

I am the whisp, I !@#$ up your run.
I take you to places you don't wanna go...
I am the whisp, I !@#$ up your run.
I dissipate! Poof! Then I am long gone...

I am the whisp, I !@#$ up your run.
I won't afflict the essence, but rather the stupid rare.
I am the whisp, I !@#$ up your run.
I won't release, try harder, about waystones don't care.

I am the whisp, I !@#$ up your run.
My forest map won't let you kill all the rares.
I am the whisp, I !@#$ up your run.
When orange, I'll but afflict the essence. Beware! It won't drop!

I am the whisp, I !@#$ up your run...
I lead you to places when you really deplore.
I am the whisp, I !@#$ up your run.
Progression is nothing, your presence I will ignore.

Do you wanna hear the music? LOL
HC SSF. What else?

Oh, and by the way, when I was talking about "orange" spirits, I spoke about the one that upgrading common monsters to uncommon, uncommon to rares and rares to uniques, the other orange is shit, because its just makes monsters unnecessesary hard with absolutely no upgrade to loot, so yeah, screw this one
