Recombination has been working quite okay for me

Don't take it as a way to craft high tier items, although it can be. It's really useful as a way to get items with two or three modifiers that I really need and then they are a good starting point for adding more modifiers.

Avoid craft chances lower than 30%, don't seem worth it.

Since the base items only need one good modifier (or two in extreme cases). Then it doesn't really matter if I lose a couple of base items to the Recombinator destruction.

Artifacts are really inexpensive on the Trade Exchange. So even if I fail a couple of 30%

In theory, if you really had a lot of artifacts and a lot of rares with 3/6 great affixes, you could do it a hundred of times and eventually craft a super high tier item, but that's not unlike gambling all your gold on vendors or things like that.

IMO, if you only created an item with a prefix and a suffix then the result should be a blue item, so that you could use Greater Essences on them.

Apparently, there's a whole world of things you could do with fracturing orbs, but I haven't have the chance to play with them yet.

Haven't done too many recombs and I mostly just did some yolo <15% attempts without caring the slightest bit if it succeeds or not.
Would be interesting if they can up the chances a bit because it looks like as soon as you want to recomb a higher tier affix the chance immediately drops down to a reeeeally low % even when just recombing 2 affixes together. But they already made the valid point in the podcast iirc that it's hard to balance this - making the chances just slightly too high and you might end up with ppl crafting godly items too easily.

What also irritates me a bit (I don't know if this intended or not) is the fact that you get different chances for taking the same affix (tier and value) as a lets say 3rd affix.

e.g.:
armor A
tier 7 %ES
tier 4 light res

armor B
tier 5 flat ES
tier 4 light res

1) You take the tier 7 %ES from A and the flat ES and tier 4 light res from B and end up with smth like a 15% chance.
2) You take the tier 7 %ES and tier 4 light res from A and only the tier 5 flat ES from B and end up with smth like a 3% chance.

Maybe I have this wrong in mind but I could swear that despite ending up with the same tiers/values I had different % chances depending on the "order" of recomb.

I usually stick with only 2 mod, one from each item

Not much issue on the success or unsuccessful rate outcome, i am a believer that the more you try the more success chance you will have…..but…..

The item with stats i need dont drop enough for me to use the recombi to chance a good gear, in my case SEAGLASS SPEAR

wish there are ways to target farm the spear so i can keep trying for an upgrade at the recombinator

With the absurdly expensive price in tradr surely getting a good one from multi multi multiple tries at the recombinator is the only logical way to get a good spear upgrade, please enable target farming for base items or make them drop more frequently
