The Viper Napuatzi Act 3 Fight is Still Overtuned for the Campaign Process

Hey GGG!

In my opinion (and I think I'm pretty rad), the Viper Napuatzi is too Overtuned in some aspects of its fight still. I love the changes to the AoEs of the chaos circles, but some skills still deal too much damage for a "first playthrough of league". Here are some examples:

1) The poison spears that the soldiers do one-shot the user. (From their rectangle formation.)
- Needing a perfect dodge, multiple times in a fight, to avoid a one-shot death isn't fun during a campaign.
- All rectangle poison spear encounters (except the first one), requires the user to watch BOTH sides of the rectangle (because both sides fire independently), which, for me, is impossible. Couple that with a one-shot death on failure, and...it sucks.
2) The skill the boss uses that's basically a rapid fire of poison shots is well paced with the default movement speed of the character (this is a good thing). The character can barely get out of the reach of the skill as the boss' aim follows the character around. The skill hits like a truck, but can be avoided when not using Dodge Roll previously. That being said, when the boss uses that skill right as the user is coming out of their "required Dodge Roll" from avoiding the rectangle's poison spears, is impossible to avoid. So, if the game rolls the poison rapid fire skill, right after the dodge-roll-only rectangle fun, the user is dead, by roll of the dice.

In my opinion, this fight isn't fun to redo because I feel like RNG decides it for me. (Referring to the spears coming from the side of the rectangle that I am not focusing on, or the skill the boss uses as I'm exiting the rectangle phase). It's not like other difficult fights where I felt like I had a chance and I simply screwed up. Redoing this fight over and over, doesn't fix or help with the issues that I listed above.

Make sense? Cool. Welp! That's me for the current state of the Viper.

See ya later!

Oh goody. You're prowling the feedback section. Lucky us.

Nobody dies to that boss.

I died at least twice. I thought she was the hardest boss since Geonor. (I died a lot more to Geonor before I figured out the fog poetry section.)

OP, once you understand the cues, you can dodge roll and take almost no damage.

Thanks! I've done the boss, I just think for the reason that I've listed it's out of tune with the campaign.

There are a few bosses that I think are quite out of place in the campaign currently, for reasons such as damage or specific skills or whatever. This is one of them. I appreciate your helpfulness! Thank you.

Is she hard? Yes
Do we die there more often than on other bosses? Yes

Is that a problem? No

We need difficulty spikes, otherwise the whole campaign feels flat, boring and too easy. Napuatzi wakes me up a bit every time I get there with a new char.

I want to keep it that way.

If you eliminate all discomfort, what are you left with?

Posts like this should have a mandatory requirement to post their build + gameplay footage.

The only campaign boss that i've died to in 0.2 was her, one shoted at act 3 normal with 1000~1500 total hp, and same thing happened in act 3 cruel, i don't think that's a coincidence, i think there's some weird interaction going on with the soldier's spear attacks causing it to do way more damage than it should, and that wouldn't be the first time that this has happened
a) If you're getting one shot by any soldier spear stab, you're either very poorly geared or there's a bug I'm unaware of.
b) Any stab can be dodged with either spacebar (telegraph is when their spear tips glow) or hugging soldiers who don't have their tips glowing. For the final attack where all spears glow, you simply move to the opposite side then dodge roll as the stabs near your position. But you can realistically dodge roll from anywhere, as long as you notice the telegraph (which is really obvious) and position accordingly.
c) Given you can position anywhere in the fighting area to dodge the final attack, you should never have to dodge roll into facetanking a potential follow up pattern.
I disagree, they nerfed her significantly.
What you need to know is that she does physical damage with chance to poison on hit.
At the eve of the end
