POE 2 - Always crashing entering Mawdum Quarry

Every time I start into Mawdum Quarry, you start at the waypoint, walk a few steps and start to engage in the first combat exchange. The game then freezes and kicks you out.
Running on a PC, Windows 11, 32G Ram, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060.

No other types of problems in any other regions, but can't continue as need to complete this area to proceed.

Help please!

I have the same problem and I haven't been able to make any progress. Have you solved anything yet?

No - totally pooched, it crashes, then I restart steam try again and it won't even load. I then reboot my machine and try again.

I end up at the portal, walk a few steps to the first set of monsters and the game freezes and kicks me out.

Have not found a work-around. Stuck and can't continue with the journey.
