Empty chests, handful of gold, rare class drops

Seeing a lot of empty chests (I'm in Act 1 still), which I understand I guess from a real world perspective.

Do most mobs drop nothing at all or maybe 1 to 3 gold? Also seeing that as well.

Lastly, seeing some rares drop from bosses...but never for my class. I'm a minion witch and all I'm seeing drop is heavy armor and archery gear.

Is it..always like this?

Yep, it will be like this for the entire campain.
Even in act 6 you will rarely ever see a rare item or a useful curency (regal or exalt) drop from a rare mob.
Massive balance issue here even after the patch, campain drops are still horendous.

If you want my advice, do not use your regals and exalted orbs to try and craft your own items, use them to trade with other players to get the items you actually need.
