A few LS Slayer Questions

Title of the video was "Facetank T17's & Ubers"
So i gave it a try.
Damage is good & white T16's are easy.
But nearly every damage Mod kills me instantly.

Didnt went crazy on gear so i was expecting some flaws.
The 2 big ones are negative Chaos Res and no Ailment immunity.
Both can be fixed relativly easy.
If i invest a bit i could also squeeze Grace in.
But i dont think that alone turns it around.

Can someone give me a hint on how to make this build as tanky as advertized?

Thank you.

It would be helpful if you posted the guide/video this is based on. I don't know how far off the original you are so it's hard to say if that's just false advertising on the originals part or you doing a poor job at copying the build.

Generally speaking i'd expect this kind of build to have max block either with Svalinn or with "more than skill" forbidden jewels. If it has that then the build does become quite tanky. I've made a similar build this league using Svalinn and can personally vouche for it's durability. At the very least it can happily stand there while uber shaper + 2 clones shoot balls at it. You have to dodge anything that bypasses your block though. T17 maps are also a non issue unless you stack a ton of damage mods.

With the way it is in the POB it's no good though. The builds primary defense is supposed to be block and you have hardly any. If you take that away you are left with a minimum amount of evasion, SS and 7 endurance charges. That doesn't really cut it as you've already noticed. Your dps also leaves a lot to be desired.
I ruled out Svalin because i didnt wanna pay 500 div.
So i mainly checked out the high dps builds which werent block capped.

A few tree changes & a better but still lousy shield (5c) later im tanky as i hoped to be.

thx again grandmaster B.

To not start another topic i ask some more questions that bugger me here.

1. Survivability
I dont have enough jewel spots to cover ailment immunity and corrputed blood.
Which one poses the bigger danger? Especially considering my Leech:

2. Damage
Faster attack support vs Elemental damage with attacks
On paper ele dam gives me 35% more dps and faster attacks only 15%.
But for one faster attacks looks sick and since im aplying ailments could that be the better option?

3. Fortify on melee hit
Right now im using Melee hits have 9% chance to fortify implicit on body armour.
Its very unreliable. But i have a Honoured Tattoo of the Pa (Melee hits fortify).
Since Lightning Strike itself doesnt work with that, would it be worth it? (18 div in standard)

4. Rage on hit
Will LS trigger it or only the melee hit?

5. Secrets of suffering
Dont know why, but at the start of the build it had bigger impact.
Still worth it or even mandatory? Using Yoke of Suffering.

Im bad at math.

1) If you don't have any means to deal with or soften them up then both are lethal. You likely won't be able to counterheal a strong CB stack with leech. And that's assuming you have something to leech from for the entire duration. Meanwhile, shock, freeze and scorch can get you killed quickly as well if you are unprepared for them. That said, you don't have to go for full ailment immunity. Freeze and Chill can be dealt with via upgraded brine king pantheon and the Garukhan pantheon reduces shock by 60% on it's own. Add a flask suffix for reduced shock effect and you have that pretty much covered as well. As for scorch, just make sure you have stacked res to nullify it. With those things in place you don't really need ailment immunity anymore.

2) Damagewise ele damage is superior, applying ailments faster doesn't make them better, in fact, hitting for lower damage means they'll be weaker since most of them are based on damage vs ailment threshold. The only reason for FA is that it simply feels good to have high aps. If that's what you want and have absolutely no other way to achieve it AND feel like you have more than enough damage already, then go for it.

3) You should ask yourself if fortify makes sense for your build in the first place. It depends on how you play but most people use LS like a ranged skill, keeping their distance and letting the projectiles do the work. With that kind of playstyle you'll never get fortify reliably. If you use it at close range most of the time then the body armor should suffice.

4) If the wording is "Gain rage on hit" then yes. If it says "Gain rage on melee hit" then the projectiles won't give any.

5) Unless you want to revamp your build almost entirely, yes. You want as many ailments as you can get for Yoke and Taming. Using secrets of suffering increases your number of ele ailments from 4 to 5. On top of scorch and brittle providing a ton of damage. If you feel it's not doing as much, you need to invest more into damage and/or ailment effect to get more effectiveness out of it.
thx as always.

Im shock immun by Tempest Shield and have 55% ailment immunity atm.
Still using the corr blood jewel so i just dont worry then.

About fortify: im running lots of Ultimatums where i just stand in the middle.
And I love Fortify. But 18div is not worth it if it doesn't proc consistently.
