Whirlwind Lance not calculating full damage with frenzy charge use

Whirlwind Lance does not seem to be calculating full damage when used with a frenzy charge. Per the description, Frenzy charge consumption should create a level 4 whirlwind, which means 150 more damage per additional stage (total 450% more). Additionally, I cannot tell a visual differentiation between a Frenzy used Whirlwind Lance with or without the Deadeye passive "thrilling chase". Thrilling chase should create a level 5 whirlwind. But the damage there (600% more) is not happening either.
