Network / Latency
My Network spikes to over 1000 non stop. The game is becoming unplayable. I have over 500 hours in this game and never had any problems on release. I have tried every trick that I have read and nothing. My ping through CA is 24 and have tried every server without any better results. Any Ideas on a fix. Also I am not on WIFI and have 1gb fiber. Thanks

Run Pingplotter and see where and how many hops might be losing packets. I had a similar problem the other day and it turns out it was my Fiber provider and proved it them using Pingplotter.

same issue here.
regardless of circlejerk replies from randos suggesting it's a local netweork issue, the problem is widespread and common already, sadly. some people have had temporary improvements by switching servers, some others not so much. the lack of aknowledgement from GGG on this topic clearly shows how little they care, considering it has been going for quite some time now actually. time to uninstall again and try in a couple of weeks or so, too bad refund is not an option. |

Yeah, I'm having the same issue. I'm based in Northern Italy with ping showing at 3-5ms on a normal basis but recently, I've just been spiking left and right. Tried other countries but as they're further away, higher ping with higher spikes.

And yet some of these "randos" actually know what they are talking about. I connect to D.C on Google Fiber and have a steady 24ms 99% of the time I am playing.
Of the 1% it's always been an issue on some network hop inbetween. It's funny how no one posts any test results of these spikes and then talk shit about "randos" and still having a problem despite being told HOW to pinpoint the problem. How about proving it's GGG's fault and then posting the proof to shut everyone up then? I am hardly the GGG posterboy in terms of dev/game defense on issue..but when it comes to hardware and network issues..you need to bring receipts or look like a fool. |

anyone saying "unplug your cable and then plug it back on", "flush dns", "use ethernet", "use cloudflare/google dns", "call your isp", "just roll back to x driver", "change router/modem" or "just format windows" is absolutely clueless. these lag spikes are an issue that popped out of nowhere after the loot patch came out
it's also happening with path of exile 1's servers so clearly an issue on their end, there's a new league next month so they might ignore it until then |

" How about a little common sense? The network and ms spiking only happens on EU servers clearly visible on the in-game monitor, every 2 seconds. I can connect to US/Canada, etc and it doesn't happen, just poor ping, as one would expect. They undoubtably record all of the information we see, so why would anyone waste their time 'proving' an obvious issue; When GGG, after a month, still hasn't even bothered to comment on it? It's certainly not my job to prove it, nor should anyone need to, its blatantly obvious it's their issue to solve and not the customers end. Or are you implying thousands of people in a dozen different countries, using dozens of different ISP's, servers and routes are all at fault... Think. |

And yet not a single screenshot to prove such. It may show a high latency on the game's F1 info screen and yet it could still (most likely) be an issue on "your" side meaning some hop from you through your ISP to GGG's server.
It's amazing how people think the game devs control the INTERNET from your home to their server room. If you cannot show which hop(s) is lagging then how can you blame anyone for the issue? "think"....yah....THINK follow your own advice. "not your job"? It's not their job and nor can they trace your network issue from YOUR HOME. Do you think they have a list of your IP's and are going to reverse trace network issues from their server to YOUR HOUSE? Lol...you are not living in the same reality as most of us then. Now if you gave them a SPECIFIC edge hop/router that belongs to some ISP they rely on for traffic to their servers then yes...that might give them something to work with and investigate. Be a part of the solution...not the just state things with no substance or proof. "THINK"... |

" Uh-huh. No thanks. Again, they have not even acknowledged an 'issue' at this point, and certainly not for 'more information'. Unarguably intentional; and just as disgraceful. Go trawl through the 450+ pages of posts on it, I'm sure someone has. Last edited by Chalace2#1463 on May 25, 2025, 3:54:16 PM
